Facing major delays in a high profile project due to global supply chain issues Xortie’s strategic procurement team was engaged to find a solution, procuring materials for key contractors and ensuring the project isn’t delayed. Seeking over 100 tons of a rare type of marine grade aluminum in the face of a global shortage the procurement team at Xortie set out on a global hunt.

Xortie contacted over 70 reputable manufacturers across a number of countries including India, Malaysia, China and Pakistan among many. With the order quantity not quite enough to warrant factories processing the order alone and supply shock sending prices in excess of 50% of the average price our procurement team found a solution. Working with 3 key factories across China and a testing laboratory Xortie was able to secure the required quantity and deliver in time that didn’t cause any impact to the client’s projects critical path. Once shipped to Australia Xortie then worked with an Australian based materials laboratory to audit and assure of specification compliance though tensile and chemical testing.
